We had the pleasure of having the Rhodes family to our house today. During our fun in the pool, we brought out a little snack of watermelon for everyone to enjoy, except that these two were the only ones that ate it. They sat by that bowl of watermelon until their little sticky fingers and mouths had touched almost every piece in the bowl. It was too cute! Thanks for coming to play with Westen, Cameron!
![]() Monday we headed to Orlando to celebrate Aunt La La's 26th birthday! We went to Houston's for dinner, then afterwards we took Westen down by the lake behind the restaurant. Westen and Papa fed the ducks! ![]() Westen had fun chasing the ducks and then decided to enjoy the view! ![]() And we must give a shout out to Cousins Ian and Renee for this adorable outfit that Westen's had since before he was born and is finally able to wear. Seriously, too cute! We had a great 4th of July weekend! We spent Friday night at our church's Celebrate America event. It was our first time attending and it was AWESOME! Fantastic music and a celebration of our country plus the honoring of our armed service men and women (which I can never help but to get weepy about). Saturday we spent the day in Flagler Beach with the Kaz's. It rained all day but we had so much fun! Corn hole, lots of food, and great company! Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of Westen that day, which is too bad because it would've been good. Filthy and wet (can you say little boy?). And Sunday, we head to Brandt's for an afternoon cook-out and the Giovanni's that night for dinner and fireworks. These pics are the night of the fireworks. Westen seemed interested at first, then became indifferent. By the end of the show, I'd say he was over the loud noise, wouldn't you?? We had a great weekend and are thankful we live in America. We all need to pray we'll still be thankful for that in the coming years. And don't get Austin started! | Welcome!Hi and welcome to our blog! I am Kate - wife of super high energy, super republican, super fun husband, Austin, and mother of 2 adorable, sweet boys - Westen and Baron! And mother of our eldest child, our sweet Boston Terrier, Cousey! Yeah, I'm outnumbered 4 to 1 so we have a home filled with rough-housing, trucks, trains, sports, you name it! I am what, over the years, has been called homemaker, housewife, and stay-at-home mom. I dare not say what today's society may call me (I kid... I kid!) I love being home with my boys and attempting to make my house a home. I'm what my mom calls "crafty", but feel more like a novice and hope to improve on my DIY and home-making skills.
