Westen's hair was getting unruly. Some of it was curly, some straight, some long, some short. We finally went to Nana for a trim. This is his before shot.
This is the after picture. His hair seemed to get curlier. He was a little fussy about it at first, but Nana gave him her phone to play with and he was fine for the rest of the time. Thanks Nana!
Westen and I spent today with our friends Storm and Rhett at the Jacksonville Zoo. The zoo was awesome! There was so much to do and see and we covered it all today! Westen and Rhett were so good all day and neither one barely slept at all. By the time we got to our long awaited train ride, they were still awake and very happy (they'd been waiting for that all day, especially Rhett). We had so much fun! Thanks for the great day Storm and Rhett!
The giraffes are my favorite - such tall animals with the longest necks and tongues. We bought twigs for Rhett and Westen to feed them, but I only got a picture of Storm feeding them:) When I first gave Westen the twigs to feed them he stood there patiently but when the giraffe actually approached him, he high-tailed it to me and gave it to me to feed the giraffe. He was having nothing to do with that animal. It was so funny!
Below is a capybara - an animal which I've never seen or heard of before. I thought it was so unbelievably ugly but couldn't take my eyes off of it. I've also never seen an actual anteater. Also an intriguing animal to see.
We stopped at the splash park to let the boys cool off a bit. It was a nice day overall, but a little cool water didn't hurt.
The rest of our day is pictured below. We had so much fun and can't wait to hang with the Kaz's again!

Hi and welcome to our blog! I am Kate - wife of super high energy, super republican, super fun husband, Austin, and mother of 2 adorable, sweet boys - Westen and Baron! And mother of our eldest child, our sweet Boston Terrier, Cousey! Yeah, I'm outnumbered 4 to 1 so we have a home filled with rough-housing, trucks, trains, sports, you name it! I am what, over the years, has been called homemaker, housewife, and stay-at-home mom. I dare not say what today's society may call me (I kid... I kid!) I love being home with my boys and attempting to make my house a home. I'm what my mom calls "crafty", but feel more like a novice and hope to improve on my DIY and home-making skills. This blog is a way for us to share our adventures with our friends and family. To learn more about us, click here. Enjoy!
